about the artist
hello! So happy you’re here. I’m here because you are and I thank you.
constance
the brand
My foundation pieces were originally designed and created under a different brand I owned years ago. For personal reasons, I dissolved that LLC. Between that dissolution and the recent reviving, revibing and rebranding via a new LLC, I missed so much my creative place in which I could pick up my tools and design. When my personal environment was right, I found my way back to my designs and my beads, metals, pearls and crystals but this time with an expanded vision and yet more life experience behind me.
My new brand, fireweed wild, is a brand named for a journey of resilience. I first discovered Alaskan fireweed during a museum visit in Anchorage AK. I came upon several pieces of artwork depicting Alaskan fireweed which was a new discovery for me…a wildflower of untamed resilience. I have always had an affinity towards flowers, especially wildflowers. The ability of fireweed to grow, regrow, and thrive freely and with abandon in disturbed environments speaks volumes to a personal journey. I wanted this new brand to speak of a resilience that is untamed. It is that untamed resilience that allows us to press on and live our best journey out loud. To me, this brand is more than just creating artful jewelry…it’s also about personal growth, determination, perseverance, tenacity.
My goals…to create tasteful jewelry that you’ll reach for day after day to enhance and complete your style for your days and your nights; to ensure you that customer service still exists; and to somehow convey through the building and continuing evolution of this brand that anything, absolutely anything, is possible.
Thank you for your support of small businesses like mine. I very much appreciate you.
the earrings
I loved the look of dangle earrings, but not the stretch of my ear piercings that were so obvious with traditional earring components such as leverbacks and hooks. The 70’s and 80’s had me working with a phone receiver on my shoulder for multitasking, contributing to stretched ear piercings over time. Additionally, the weight of the heavy earrings I often wore took a toll. So several years ago out came a pencil and paper and some cheap wire and I started designing what would, within a few short months, land as my first post earring design cast in sterling silver and ready for sale, first bloom. It, as well as all subsequent designs, is designed with the post in the center of the head of the earring in an effort to help conceal at least minor stretching of ear piercings. The best feature though - the ability to link dangles on and off to create a wardrobe of earring designs using one foundation piece selection.
To demonstrate my new earring product years ago to potential buyers, I made some simple dangles. I had no idea that part of the project would eventually become a major component of my business. I was only making these dangles to demonstrate to bead shop owners how other beaders could make their own dangles to display from my new earring design. It didn’t take long to realize just how much I loved designing these. It was my artful expression and would ultimately lead to an entire collection of its own…pearl’s notes…handcrafted by me. With time, my pearl’s notes designs have evolved and continue to evolve as I grow personally and within the industry.
the good stuff
My foundation pieces are cast in sterling silver and in bronze here in the USA by an extremely talented metalsmith I was referred to years ago and his staff. They truly are the best to work with!
I buy the components for my pearl’s notes designs within the US in order to support other American small businesses. These components are not necessarily made in the USA, but I do purchase them from US suppliers.
I hope that through my designs, my customers realize post earrings don’t have to be dull and boring. They can be artistic, colorful, sparkly, bold or not – it’s your look to create! And it’s easier now than ever to create a look all your own with fireweed wild jewelry.
